I enjoy ironing so I recently bought a new steam generated iron for my home… It’s’ wonderful in every way except the steam lacks that magical scent my old iron seems to have. Any tips on how to change the smell of the steam…?

Hello: Can anyone tell me how to clean a steam iron? I’ve got a lot of hard burned stuff on it and I dont know what to clean it with. I tried comet cleanser but that doesnt work well. Also, how can I get my vertical venetian blinds clean? Do I have to clean them one at a time? Oh, I certainly hope not.
Jewelry steam cleaners are expensive. So, I’m wondering if I can use the steam from a steam iron to clean my jewelry in the same way. Has anyone tried this? I’m wondering if this would actually work…or if it is not recommended.
I’m just talking about using it with my wedding set – diamonds and gold. No glue involved.
I got a Shark Steam mop and also the portable steam pocket for Christmas. After using the pads once I washed them in the laundry and aired dry. They will not come clean. Any suggestions?
I bought an iron a few months ago. It’s supposed to be ‘drip-free’, but it seems to be the exact opposite, always dripping water even when i iron at it’s hottest setting. I’ve never dropped it, so it’s not like it’s cracked. I also don’t fill it beyond the max water mark. Which iron can i get that will give good steam and make taking care of laundry easier(I deliberately left out the brand of what i bought, so you can give me unbiased opinions)? Thanks!
I often hear people saying don’t put your hand in water after ironing clothes. Is it a superstition or is there any scientific truth in it?

Ask any Filipino (Nationals of the Philippines) they will swear it is true. Also they say it has long term effects which cannot be felt just then.

It seems my iron will sometimes leak a dot of water on the clothes which produces a water spot and then I have to put the pants right back in the wash! I have been using Distilled water. Maybe I just need a new iron…
